Clinical Hypnotherapy Sessions

It is important that both the client and the therapist have a clear understanding of Gippsland Counselling & Hypnotherapy policies and procedures.

As a new client you need to be informed about Clinical Hypnotherapy policies in order to provide informed consent prior to the session. Gippsland Counselling & Hypnotherapy holds these policies and procedures to a very high standard and therefore have posted them on our website for your convenience.

While the Mental Health Care Plan may cover the full cost of a psychologist’s session, it’s essential to consider the potential out-of-pocket expense, often referred to as a ‘gap.’ In 2022, Medicare offered rebates of $92.90 for sessions with Registered/Endorsed psychologists and $136.35 for Clinical psychologists, specifically for 50-minute consultations. Furthermore, according to the APS National Schedule of Recommended Fees 2023-2024, the standard fee for a 46 to 60-minute consultation is $300.

If you currently have a Mental Health Care Plan and are facing challenges in securing an appointment, I suggest exploring alternative modalities that may offer more cost-effective options than paying a gap under the MHCP.
